So nice to be featured again in Carats & Cake, this time, showing Kathryn and David’s Lenox wedding at the Wheatleigh. I never tire of looking at these photos by Heather Waraksa.
Here we are, already in February and I’m only just getting around to looking at the photos of Jessie and Jeff’s magnificent November wedding at the Rainbow Room. Thanks Lilian Haidar for the lovely photos. There were many discussions about color palette for the Rainbow Room. Ultimately, we decided upon a combination of mixed metals and crystal which already exist in the newly renovated landmark space. Flowers were an amazing collaboration between Claire Bean and Jessy Wolvek of Fleurs. Vintage family wedding […]
For anyone hosting a wedding at home, please allow me to share some simple advice. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. The secret to a tented wedding is to have a great Plan B….with a generator, a back up generator, and a dream team of vendors who smile through it all. Below, we started building the tent Tuesday just as the weatherman announced tornado warnings in the area. Who ever heard of tornados in the Hamptons? Well, just the threat. And […]
It’s no surprise that Katie and Dave’s romantic September Wheatleigh wedding was featured today on Style Me Pretty‘s front page. There are so many swoon-worthy photos of this wedding taken by the talented Heather Waraksa. The couple, the details, the venue. So much to see, I can’t squeeze it all into one blog. The second blog installment of this wedding, complete with reception photos, is coming soon. To be notified, you’ll need to subscribe to my blog. Don’t worry. I only post […]
So you’re engaged. Congratulations. After the dust settles on your Instagram and Facebook accounts, get ready to start fielding questions about who’s on the guest list, where you’re getting married and when. As you begin to plan, a few things to keep in mind: 1. As Steve Jobs so eloquently put it, “Don’t let the opinions of others drown out your own inner voice.” Friends and family will have lots of advice and opinions. Don’t allow your wedding to become […]
Just got these beautiful images of Katie and Paul’s Shelter Island wedding from Craig Paulson. So much better than the ones I snapped with my iphone. So intimate and personal. I can’t help but smile as I look at these….Invitation design and printing by Swiss Cottage Designs
Lucky me, to plan Zoe and Chris’ wedding at their home in Sagaponack. As co-owners of English Country Antiques in Bridgehampton, there were so many wonderful props and accessories which infused their personal touch into every aspect of their day. Thank goodness the rain held off. Admittedly, it was a bit humid during set up but a soft breeze cooled it down just in time for guests to arrive. Below, a few photos taken with my iphone. Don’t you just love the “Mr […]
Very excited about yesterday’s tasting with Cloud Catering for a September wedding in Sagaponack. Especially combining a variety of serving styles for one event. Starting with a plated served summer salad of fresh melon and heirloom tomatoes with summer radish, greens and pea tendrils. Lightest balsamic and a smudge of blue cheese. I could eat this every day. Astonishingly light and incredibly flavorful. Main course was an incredible assortment to choose from; Veal Porterhouse, Steak Porterhouse, Grilled Swordfish (with mango corn salsa), bbq […]
